TOLEDO, Ohio — The University of Toledo Athletic Department announced the hiring of Henry Davidson as the department's first-ever Assistant Athletic Director for Student-Athlete Benefits & Data Analytics. Davidson brings a combination of strategic insight, technical expertise, and a deep commitment to student-athlete success to Toledo.

Davidson joins the Rockets after working the past three years in the data analytics industry for White Lodging, one of the largest privately held hospitality companies in the United States, operating more than 50 premium-brand hotels and 50 restaurants across major markets nationwide, where he most recently held the role of Corporate Manager of Commercial Optimization and Analysis. In this role, he focused on data-driven consulting, CRM integration, and benefits optimization across commercial operations. His leadership helped drive measurable outcomes through advanced segmentation, modeling, and strategic program management.

In his role at Toledo, Davidson will lead the department's efforts to integrate data analytics into daily decision-making across all units, from student-athlete benefits and revenue sharing to fan engagement and operational efficiency. He will also oversee the implementation of new data systems and dashboards that support the department's "Data-Driven Excellence" initiative, utilizing analytics to inform strategy, measure impact, and enhance outcomes. In addition, Davidson will supervise a team of UToledo interns, providing them with experiential learning in data science, business intelligence, and athletics innovation.

"Henry's unique background in both athletics and data analytics makes him an ideal fit for our department and reflects our evolution toward innovation, precision, and measurable impact," said Vice President and Director of Athletics Bryan B. Blair. "Data should underpin every decision we make—from student-athlete benefits and revenue sharing to operations, marketing, and resource allocation. Henry will help every unit make smarter, more efficient, and more strategic choices that maximize return on investment and elevate the student-athlete experience. His expertise in analytics and passion for athletics will strengthen our approach to benefits oversight and data-informed decision-making."

A former collegiate track athlete, Davidson earned his Bachelor of Science in Quantitative Analysis and Marketing from Franklin College (Ind.), where he was recognized with multiple academic honors, including the Thorp Welford Prize for Excellence in Quantitative Analysis and the Tom Bolslsen Academic All-Conference Award.

Davidson also holds a Master of Science in Data Analytics from the University of Indianapolis, with graduate certificates in Business Intelligence and Applied Data Science and Strategy. During his time in Indianapolis, he developed an NCAA basketball analytics dashboard using SQL, Python, and Tableau—an effort that showcases his ability to translate performance metrics into useable insights for athletic programs.

"I am incredibly excited for this great opportunity with Toledo Athletics," said Davidson. "I have been thoroughly impressed by the entire department's commitment to excellence and a desire for continuous growth. The ability to make an immediate impact on the student-athlete experience at Toledo is something I am looking forward to. With the NCAA landscape changing rapidly, I believe data analytics can be used as a tool to unlock a new level of success at Toledo. I wholeheartedly believe in AD Blair's mission and consider myself lucky to be a part of it."
