Rockets Take on In-State Foe Miami on Wednesday at Savage Arena

TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo women's basketball team will close the month of January with a home Mid-American Conference matchup against Miami on Wednesday, Jan. 29. Tipoff will be at 7:00 p.m. with broadcasts on ESPN+ and radio on WCWA 1230 AM and The Varsity Network App.
 
Toledo is tied with Western Michigan for fourth place in the standings heading into Wednesday's matchup while Miami is tied for sixth.
 
The Rockets (13-5, 5-3 MAC) are coming off of an 80-68 win against arch-rival Bowling Green on Saturday in front of 6,527 fans at Savage Arena. Toledo out-scored BG 53-36 in the second half to surge to the victory. Kendall Carruthers scored a season-high 21 points while Khera Goss added 20 points on 8-of-11 shooting. Toledo is 8-1 at home this season.
 
The RedHawks (11-7, 4-4 MAC) fell at home to Kent State on Saturday, 77-63. Miami was led by Maya Chandler with 18 points and Enjulina Gonzalez with 17 points. MU is 3-4 overall on the road this season, including 2-2 in MAC road games.
 
Premium parking will be in parking areas 3, 4, 5, 6 and 18 while general parking is available in lots 1, 2 and 10. Prior to the game, fans can meet student-athletes from Toledo's spring sports programs at the Spring Showcase in Fetterman Gym from 5:30-7:00 p.m.
 
Toledo leads the all-time series 44-31 and is 25-12 in home games. The Rockets possess a six-game winning streak all-time in the series.

Rockets at Savage Arena
  • Toledo is 8-1 at home this season and 3-1 in home conference games.
  • Toledo has won each of its last three home games by double digits, doing so by 11 against Kent State, 15 against Ohio and 12 against Bowling Green.
  • The Rockets have also won their share of close games at the venue this season, winning four times by single digits. UT has also come back in the fourth quarter in three of its home victories.
  • With the fourth-biggest crowd in program history to boost, Toledo is now averaging 4,292 fans per game. The Rockets were 31st in Division I in attendance heading into Saturday.
Consistency Remains Key for Khera
  • Khera Goss put up a 20-point effort against Bowling Green, her second 20-point game of the season.
  • She shot 8-of-11 from the field, the fourth-consecutive time Goss has shot 50% or better with at least five field goals made.
  • In the last four games, Goss is averaging 16.3 points per game and shooting 24-of-37 (64.9%) from the field.
  • She has scored in double figures in 11 of her last 12 games and 14 times overall this season.
  • Goss is fourth in the league in field goal percentage (50.9%) and three-point percentage (41.0%).
Of Note
  • The Rockets out-rebounded Bowling Green 31-23 on Saturday, holding the Falcons to their lowest rebound total of the season.
  • Toledo is tied for 41st in the country in rebound margin, averaging 6.6 per game.
  • The Rockets are shooting 37-of-43 (.860) from the free throw line across their last three games.
  • UT is coming off of its best three-point shooting percentage, going 56.3% (9-of-16) against Bowling Green. Toledo is shooting 45.6% (26-of-57) from deep over their last three games.
  • Sammi Mikonowicz is ninth in the league in shooting percentage (48.4%) and tied for eighth from three-point range (37.5%).
  • Mikonowicz is also two rebounds away from becoming Toledo's second all-time player with 1,000 rebounds. She is 10th in the MAC with 5.78 per game.
  • Kendall Carruthers sits sixth in the league with an 86.0% free throw percentage.
  • Recording another rejection against BG, Faith Fedd-Robinson is tied for 10th in the league with 12 blocks.
