Red-Hot Shooting Pushes Rockets Past Bowling Green, 84-71

Isaiah Adams and Sonny Wilson each score team-high 18 points

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – Fifth-year senior Isaiah Adams and sophomore Sonny Wilson each scored a game-high 18 points and the Toledo men's basketball team (11-8, 5-2 MAC) knocked down 12 three-pointers in an 84-71 victory over arch-rival Bowling Green (7-12, 2-5 MAC) on Friday night in the Stroh Center.

"I'm really proud of our guys to come on the road and win a rivalry game," said Head Coach Tod Kowalczyk after the Rockets won for the sixth time in last seven meetings vs. the Falcons. "We played with energy and purpose. I knew they were going to zone us and we handled it pretty well for the most part. It was a very efficient game from start to finish."

Also scoring in double digits for the Rockets were sophomores Sam Lewis (14 pts.) and Bryce Ford (12 pts.). Ford topped UT's perimeter assault with four three-pointers, while Lewis buried a trio of triples.

Sophomore Javan Simmons nearly recorded a double-double, finishing with eight points and a team-high nine rebounds. Simmons' work on the glass helped UT to a 37-30 rebounding advantage.

Toledo shot 48.3% from the field, 50.0% from three-point range and 82.4% (14-of-17) at the free-throw line. Bowling Green posted a 42.9 FG% and a 27.3 three-point FG% (6-of-22).
