Toledo plays Bowling Green in Savage Arena for first time since 2021

TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo women's volleyball team renews the Battle of I-75 rivalry as the Rockets host Bowling Green on Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. The match will be broadcast locally on BCSN and livestreamed on ESPN+.

Toledo enters the match with an overall record of 9-5 (2-0 MAC) after defeating Northern Illinois twice during the first weekend of conference play. Bowling Green has an overall record of 7-6 (2-0 MAC) after earning two wins over Ball State last weekend to open MAC competition.

ROCKET NOTES
  • Toledo ranks third in team hitting percentage in the MAC with a .227 clip.
  • The Rockets are second in the conference in total service aces with 98, which is good for 29th in the country. The team averages 1.92 aces per set, ranking second in the MAC and 23rd nationally.
  • Fifth year senior Taylor Alt leads the league in total kills (191) which is 59th in the nation. Alt rattles home 3.82 kills per set, good for first in the MAC and 68th in the nation.
  • Alt ranks within the top three of NCAA Division I Active Kill Leaders with 1,901. She trails Ohio State's Emily Londot (1,927) and Evansville's Giulia Cardona (1,917). Her 1,901 kills rank among the top-10 in MAC history, placing her at eighth all-time.
  • Junior Izzy Granger is averaging 3.04 kills per set and adds 2.43 digs per set. Granger is tied for most service aces on the team with 19.
SCOUTING THE FALCONS
  • Bowling Green ranks second in the conference and 54th nationally in blocks per set with 2.48. Junior middle blocker Jessica Andrews has totaled a team-best 56.0 blocks, averaging 2.33 blocks per set.
  • Junior opposite Lauryn Hovey paces the Falcons offense, averaging 2.96 kills per set. Senior outside hitter Mia Tyler is a close second with 2.33 kills per set.
  • Graduate student Lindsey LaPinta leads Bowling Green's defense with 148 digs, good for 3.22 digs per set.
SERIES STUFF
  • Bowling Green leads the all-time series, 54-18.
  • The Rockets took the win in their only matchup in the 2023 season, 3-2 in Bowling Green, Ohio.
  • Tuesday's match marks the first time that the Falcons have come to Savage Arena since Oct. 30, 2021.
UP NEXT
Toledo heads to Ohio University this Friday and Saturday for their first conference action on the road. Friday's match is set to begin at 6:00 p.m. while Saturday's is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. Both matches will be streamed on ESPN+.
