Borton will speak at Toledo women's basketball's annual pre-season fundraiser
TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo women's basketball program has announced it will hold its annual tipoff dinner featuring Final Four Head Coach Pam Borton as its keynote speaker on Wednesday, Oct. 23. Doors will open at the Student Union Auditorium at 6:00 p.m. and dinner will be served around 6:30.
"I cannot wait for my first tipoff dinner experience!" said Head Coach Ginny Boggess. "Pam Borton is the perfect fit to celebrate the start of the 2024-25 season. As an Ohio native, she understands the tradition of UT women's basketball as she has achieved excellence on the hardwood, including coaching to a Final Four. Now, as an executive coach, Pam continues to pay it forward. She will undoubtedly captivate our audience as a keynote speaker."
Borton was a head coach for 16 seasons at the Division I level – four at Vermont (1993-1997) and 12 at Minnesota (2002-2014). She led the Golden Gophers to their first-ever Final Four appearance in 2004 and has twice been named a finalist for the Naismith National Coach of the Year. Borton amassed over 300 wins as a head coach and is Minnesota's all-time winningest basketball coach with 236.
Outside of coaching, Borton became the CEO and co-founder of the leadership consulting firm ON Point Next Level Leadership. She also founded the non-profits TeamWomen and Empower Leadership Academy, which inspire women and girls to grow professionally and in leadership.
The dinner will cost $60 for individuals, $110 for couples and $10 for children 10 & under. Attendees can also purchase an eight-person victory table for $550 and an MVP table for $1,050. The MVP table will include a photo with Coach Boggess and Borton.
