Redshirt freshman registers best round of weekend in Rocket debut

SIMPSONVILLE, Ky. – Redshirt freshman Valeria Lizcano led the Toledo women's golf team on Sunday with a four-over par 76 in the Rockets' final round at this weekend's Cardinal Cup hosted by the University of Louisville. UT finished in 14^th place in the team standings with a 54-hole total of 949 at the par-72, 6,374-yard University of Louisville Golf Club.

Freshman Brooklyn Millard posted Toledo's best individual finish in the tournament by tying for 27^th place at 10-over par 226 (75-73-78). Lizcano was four strokes behind Millard and tied for 38^th place individually at 14-over par 230 (77-77-76).

The remainder of the Rockets' lineup included senior Yedam Lee (73^rd/78-77-87=242), senior Kyleigh Dull (T-80^th/90-82-84=256), and sophomore Mia Natividad (T-80^th/85-84-87=256).

Freshman Emily Young competed as an individual and tied for 78^th place at 249 after notching her best round of the tournament today with a five-over par 77.

Toledo will return to action next week when it travels to East Lansing, Mich. for Michigan State's Mary Fossum Invitational on Sunday-Monday, Sept. 22-23.
