TOLEDO, Ohio – The University of Toledo and the City of Toledo are partnering for "Rocket Week" once again to kick off another year of Toledo Athletics.
Rocket Week will take place from Aug. 22-30 and is a series of special events leading up to the first home football game of the season, "The Biggest Party in Toledo," on Thursday, Aug. 29. Toledo hosts Duquesne at the Glass Bowl that night at 7:30 p.m.
Beginning Aug. 22, events are planned on campus and in the community that celebrate Toledo Athletics and its relationship with the City of Toledo. Rocket Week will be kicked off with a downtown pep rally at Levis Square (435 N. St. Clair St.) on Aug. 22 at 12:30 p.m.
Other highlights of Rocket Week include a flag-raising ceremony at One Government center on Monday, Aug. 26 (1:30 p.m.) and an on-campus pep rally in Centennial Mall on Wednesday, Aug. 28 (12:30 p.m.)
Fans can receive a free limited edition Team Toledo license plate (while supplies last) by spending $100 in-store at Rocky's Locker in the Student Union or at the Toledo Bookstore on Dorr & Secor.
