Rocket women looking for fourth consecutive MAC crown while men hope to break through after three straight runner-up finishes
TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo men's and women's cross country programs have unveiled their 2024 schedules, Director of Cross Country and Track & Field Andrea Grove-McDonough announced on Friday.

The 2024 schedule includes five regular-season meets in the lead-up to the Mid-American Conference Championships and the NCAA Championships. The Toledo women will be going for their fourth consecutive MAC Championship in 2024, while the Rocket men will be attempting to win their first MAC crown after three straight runner-up finishes.
Toledo will begin the season at the Akron Invitational hosted by the University of Akron on Friday, Aug. 30. Next, the Rockets will head to the We Fly MAC Championships Preview hosted by Ball State on Sept. 14. UT will compete twice in October, beginning with a trip to the Windy City to compete at the Loyola Chicago Lakefront Invitational on Oct. 4. The Rockets will then split their squads on Oct. 18, with competition at Princeton's Fall Classic and Bowling Green's Falcon Invitational that day.

Postseason competition will begin on Nov. 2, when the Rockets return to Ball State for the MAC Championships. Toledo will look to defend its women's team title and while Dennis Mutai will defend his men's individual championship from 2023. Director of Cross Country/Track & Field Andrea Grove-McDonough was named the MAC Women's Cross Country Coach of the Year while Associate Head Coach Tito Medrano was named the MAC Men's Cross Country Coach of the Year.

Qualifying runners will compete at the NCAA Great Lakes Cross Country Regional Championships on Nov. 15 in Akron. The NCAA Cross Country Championships will be held on Nov. 23 at the University of Wisconsin in Madison, Wisc. Toledo finished eighth out of 32 teams in last year's women's regional in Madison.
