TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo women's basketball team will hold an open practice in Savage Arena on Tuesday, July 30 from 5:00-6:15 p.m., giving fans the opportunity the opportunity to see the 2024-25 Rockets for the first time.
Admission to the open practice is free. The first 100 fans in attendance will receive a free Rocket Value Combo (hot dog or brat, chips and a drink). Fans can park for free in Lot 5 in front of the Rocket Athletic Ticket Office. Other lots on campus are available for a fee using ParkMobile.
Toledo enters the season as the three-time defending Mid-American Conference champions and are under the direction of first-year Head Coach
Ginny Boggess.
Toledo's roster features a mix of returners and newcomers. UT features four graduate students on its roster including
Nan Garcia,
Khera Goss,
Sammi Mikonowicz and
Hannah Noveroske. Mikonowicz was a Third-Team All-MAC selection a season ago, averaging 9.1 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game in 34 starts.
The Rockets also bring seven newcomers to Northwest Ohio for the 2024-25 season, including last season's Northeast Conference (NEC) Rookie of the Year in
Kendall Carruthers. The Holland, Ohio native averaged 14.1 points, 3.4 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 0.9 steals last year at St. Francis (PA).
Toledo opens its non-conference schedule against Sun Belt Conference champion Marshall on Nov. 4 at Savage Arena. The Rockets will travel to two-time national runner-up Iowa on Nov. 13 and play in multi-team tournaments at the Navy Thanksgiving Classic (Nov. 30-Dec. 1) and Cherokee Invitational (Dec. 18-19).
