TOLEDO, Ohio – Toledo Director of Cross Country and Track & Field Andrea Grove-McDonough has announced that Mary Munga has signed with the Rockets as a transfer for the 2024-25 cross country and track & field seasons.

Munga comes from Akron, where she was an all-conference selection and registered a pair of top-three finishes in the Mid-American Conference championships in one season as a Zip.
"We are thrilled to bring Mary aboard," said Grove-McDonough. "Her exceptional athletic prowess on both grass and track will provide significant depth and firepower to our program. With her talents, we are well-positioned to excel in the MAC Championships."

Munga was named First-Team All-MAC as she recorded a season-best 6K time of 20:45.64 to take fourth place in the 2023 MAC Cross Country Championships as a freshman. During the 2024 track & field outdoor season, Munga placed second in the 800m (2:10.37) and third in the 1500m (4:29.81) at the MAC Championships to earn Second-Team All-MAC honors.

Munga PRed in the 800m at the WVU Last Chance on May 4 (2:08.32) and the 1500m prelims at the MAC Championships (4:26.50).

Toledo enters the 2024 cross country season as the defending Mid-American Conference women's team champions.
