Last Time on the Field
Toledo is coming off a three-game sweep over Buffalo in the final home series of the regular season. Strong pitching helped the Rockets cruise through the doubleheader on Saturday and junior
Eli Enriquez scored the winning run off a wild pitch in the bottom of the seventh in Sunday's series finale to end the season on a high note. In the series, Enriquez led the offense with five hits and five stolen bases, and senior
Jenna Kroll hit her sixth home run of the season.
Toledo and Central Michigan were scheduled to play a doubleheader on April 12, but it was canceled due to inclement weather during game one.
Rockets in the Rankings
- Toledo takes a program-best .300 batting average and a .419 slugging percentage into the postseason.
- Kroll ranks No.2 in program history with 25 career home runs and trails by one to No. 3 Lindsey Tobias' 111 career RBIs (2010-13) in school history. Dayna Denner (2020-22) leads the program with 28 homers, and Rhonda King (1987-90) holds the RBI record at 131.
- Senior Riley Mohr moved up the program rankings for career RBIs last week. She is now tied with No. 5 Amy Galvan (1992-95) and Celeste Fidge (2014-17) with 95.
- Enriquez leads the Rockets' offense with five triples and tops the MAC with 33 stolen bases this season, the third-best number of thefts by a Rocket in a single season.
Toledo at the MAC Championships
- Toledo's last appearance in the MAC Championships was in 2019 when it won the program's first tournament title. The Rockets were the No. 7 seed and upset No. 1 seed Miami followed by a doubleheader sweep vs. No. 3 seed Ohio on the final day to claim the crown.
- Toledo has three regular season titles (1985, '87, and '92) to go along with its one tournament title, and has a 9-9 all-time record at the MAC Tournament.
- Erin Hunt (2019-23) was named Toledo's first and only MAC Tournament MVP in 2019. Â
- Rhonda King (1990) and Dayna Denner (2021) are Toledo's two MAC Player of the Year honorees.
- Varsity T Hall of Famer Cheryl Sprangel was named MAC Coach of the Year three times (1985, '89, '92) and Kristen Butler earned the honor in 2018.
