Toledo Athletics Celebrates 2023-24 Athletic Year in Annual Rocket Awards

Thirty-nine awards, special moments and MVP honors handed out at Monday's banquet
TOLEDO, Ohio – The third-annual Rocket Awards were held to celebrate the student-athletes and accomplishments of Toledo Athletics for the 2023-24 school year at the UToledo Student Union Monday evening.

Awards highlighting individual and team success were handed out to celebrate another successful year for Toledo Athletics.
Â
For the second straight year, women's basketball was named the Team of the Year. The 2023-24 team amassed a 28-6 record and won its third straight MAC regular season championship, going 17-1 in conference play. The Rockets then reached the quarterfinals of the inaugural Women's Basketball Invitational Tournament.

Football's Quinyon Mitchell was named the Male Athlete of the Year while women's basketball's Sophia Wiard garnered Female Athlete of the Year.

Fall and winter sports from the 2023-24 academic year along with spring sports from the 2023 season were eligible for nominations.
