TOLEDO, Ohio -  The Toledo women's basketball team will host Cleveland State in first-round action of the Women's Basketball Invitation Tournament (WBIT) on Thursday, March 21 in Savage Arena (7:00 p.m. / ESPN+). This is the inaugural year for the WBIT, which is owned and run by the NCAA and supplants the WNIT as the No. 2 post-season women's basketball tournament.

This is the third consecutive post-season appearance for Toledo. The Rockets played in the 2023 NCAA Tournament, advancing to the second round following a victory over Big 12 Tournament champion Iowa State, as well as in the 2022 WNIT where they advanced to the quarterfinals.

Both No. 2 seed Toledo (26-5) and Cleveland State (29-5) earned automatic berths into the 32-team WBIT field by virtue of winning their regular-season conference titles. Cleveland State won its first-ever Horizon League regular-season championship with an 18-2 league mark.  The Vikings lost to Green Bay in the tournament championship game, 64-40.

The winner of the Toledo-Cleveland State game will play the winner of the No. 3 seed Florida/St. John's game on Sunday, March 24. As the higher seed, Toledo would host that contest if it defeats CSU.

Tickets can be ordered online by going to utrockets.com/WBBTix,  calling or texting 419-530-GOLD (4653), or by stopping by the Rocket Ticket Office located in the Sullivan Athletic Complex at Savage Arena during normal business hours.
