Toledo Announces 2024-25 Track and Field Schedule

Rockets set to compete in 18 meets throughout indoor and outdoor schedule

TOLEDO, Ohio – Director of Cross Country and Track & Field Andrea Grove-McDonough announced the Toledo women's track and field schedule on Thursday. The schedule features 11 indoor meets leading up to the 2025 Mid-American Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships in Akron, Ohio. The team will compete in seven outdoor meets before the MAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Athens, Ohio on May 15-17.

Grove-McDonough is in her seventh season as head coach and returns with associate head coach Tito Medrano, who is in his second season. Assistant coaches Cameron Ponder and Devin Quinn are in their first season on staff.

Toledo will open the season by splitting the team across three meets. The team will see action at the Akron Haynes Lancaster Open in Akron, Ohio and the Grand Valley State Holiday Open in Allendale, Mich. on Friday, Dec. 6. The weekend concludes on Saturday, Dec. 7 at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener in Boston, Mass.

In January, the Rockets will compete in five meets with two meets at the University of Akron and one each hosted by Notre Dame, Michigan and Penn State. Toledo will wrap up the month at the Penn State National Open in University Park, Pa. from Jan. 31-Feb. 1.

On Feb. 8, Toledo will return to the University of Michigan for the Michigan Invitational. The following weekend, the team will split to compete at the David Hemery Valentine Invite in Boston, Mass. And the other group will be at the Badgers Windy City Invite in Chicago. The final indoor tune up of the season will be at Michigan's Silverston Invitational on Feb. 21.

The MAC Indoor Track and Field Championships are set for Feb. 28-March 1 in Akron, Ohio. The NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships will follow on March 14-15 in Virginia Beach, Va.

Toledo will begin its outdoor slate on March 27-29 at the Raleigh Relays hosted by NC State in Raleigh, N.C. The Rockets will then head into a busy April featuring five outdoor meets: The Ohio University Cherry Blossom (April 4), Ball State We Fly Challenge (April 11-12), Bison Outdoor Classic (April 11-13), Bryan Clay Invitational (April 16-18) and the Wake Forest Invitational (April 17-19).

The final regular season outdoor meet will be on May 9 at Ohio University. On May 15-17, the Rockets will compete in the MAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Athens, Ohio.

The NCAA East Regional First Round is set for May 28-31 in Jacksonville, Fla. while the NCAA Outdoor Championships will take place on June 11-14 in Eugene, Ore.
