TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo women's basketball team cruised to a 114-30 victory over Defiance, setting a program record for scoring margin in Savage Arena on Saturday.
Â
The Rockets (8-2) scored 36 points in the first quarter to establish a 26-point lead, continuing to expand the advantage over the Yellow Jackets (2-11) throughout the game. The 84-point margin of victory obliterated the previous record of 60 (87-27) against Findlay in the 1975-76 season.
Â
"I'm proud of our veteran players and starters for coming in and setting the tone for us, along with the discipline they showed today," said Head Coach
Ginny Boggess. "It's easy in a game like this to get selfish or try too much one-on-one, but you saw the selflessness of our team today. We were getting shots for one another and knocking them down, and I'm really pleased to see 32 assists. We continue to stack days and build every single day."
