TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo women's swimming and diving team will host its first meet of the season on Friday when Indiana State comes to town. The Rockets and Sycamores will get on the starting blocks at 3:00 p.m. at the UT Student Recreation Center Pool. Admission to the event is free.
LAST TIME OUT
Toledo competed in the Eagle Invitational hosted by Florida Gulf Coast on Oct. 18-19. The Rockets took home a third place finish in the invitational. Sophomore
Leah Evans recorded a 54.30 final time in the 100 butterfly, notching the sixth best time in program history.
Freshman
Rosie Richards found success in her second collegiate meet, winning the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:50.98. The Rockets' relay teams had impressive showings as the squads took first in the 400 medley relay, 400 freestyle relay, 800 freestyle relay and grabbed a second place finish in the 200 medley relay.
ABOUT INDIANA STATE
Indiana State owns an overall record of 3-1, earning wins over Illinois State, Eastern Illinois and Vanderbilt while falling to Illinois. The Sycamores claimed victories in the 100 freestyle, 400 freestyle relay as well as the 400 medley relay and the 200 freestyle relay against Illinois and Vanderbilt.
SERIES STUFF
The Sycamores own the series record, 1-0. The lone meeting between programs was in Terre Haute, Ind. on Jan. 17, 2020.
