To accommodate the addition of Washington State to the 2025 schedule, a contest at Appalachian State originally scheduled for next season was moved to 2032 on a date to be determined.
The Rockets also added a home-and-home series with Rice, beginning with a Toledo home game on Sept. 8, 2029 and a return trip to Houston on Sept. 13, 2031. Rice, which plays in the American Athletic Conference, will be playing Toledo for the first time in football.
