Evans grabs two top-three finishes while Rosie Richards places third in the 200 freestyle
CLEVELAND, Ohio – Sophomore Leah Evans took two third-place finishes while freshman Rosie Richards placed third for the Toeldo Rockets in the second day of the Magnus Cup Invitational hosted by Cleveland State.
Evans took third in the 100 butterfly with a time of 54.21 while also placing third in the 100 backstroke with a mark of 54.47. Evans recorded new personal best times in both events.
Richards clocked a final time of 1:50.15 to take third in the 200 freestyle. Richards' final time is a new personal best for the event. Junior Janne Slegers placed sixth in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:51.20.
In the 100 backstroke, sophomore Gracie Pardue recorded a ninth-place finish with a time of 55.67, a new personal best time. Freshman Audrey Zimmerman had a final mark of 59.38, also a new personal best.
The 800 freesyle relay team of Richards, Nejla Karic, Molly Pressler and Slegers took fifth-place with a final time of 7:33.41 to close out the second day of events.
Toledo currently sits in fifth out of 12 teams, totaling 335 points through two days of action.
UP NEXT
Toledo will wrap up the Magnus Cup Invitational on Saturday, Nov. 23. Prelims begin at 9:00 a.m. while diving is set for 1:00 p.m. Final events will start at 6:00 p.m.
