Toledo Earns 1-1 Draw with Central Michigan on Sunday

Olivia Dault converts penalty kick to earn result for Rockets

TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo women's soccer team converted an early penalty kick which stood for a draw in a 1-1 result with Central Michigan at Paul Hotmer Field on Sunday.

The Rockets (4-5-3, 1-2-2) are undefeated in their last three matches, their longest undefeated stretch this season. Central Michigan (4-4-4, 2-0-3) remained undefeated in conference play after netting a 78th-minute equalizer.

Senior Olivia Dault converted a penalty kick in the 17th minute for her first goal of the season. She took a team-high four shots with two on goal for the afternoon. Junior Kaema Amachree and freshman Cameron Cole each took three shots with one on net. In goal, junior goalkeeper Agnes Stenlund finished with three saves on a .750 save percentage.

Dault also eclipsed 5,000 minutes for her Toledo career, becoming the fourth player in program history to surpass the mark and the first since Vicki Traven (2008-11), who played 7,069 minutes as a goalkeeper.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • 17' | Kaema Amachree was fouled in the penalty area for a penalty kick, and Dault stepped to the penalty spot and converted in the bottom-left corner for a 1-0 Toledo lead.
  • 34' | Central Michigan created a dangerous opportunity on a low cross from right in front of the net, but Agnes Stenlund recovered to keep the ball from going over the line.
  • 67' | Brooklyn Whitehead curled a shot from the edge of the box, but the strong effort went just over the crossbar.
  • 78' | A foul just outside of the 18-yard box gave Central Michigan a free kick, and Claudia Muessig put a shot into the top-right corner to tie the game at 1-1.
