TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo women's volleyball team hits the road for a pair of Mid-American Conference matches this weekend against the 2023 league champion Western Michigan. The Rockets and Broncos will meet on Friday, Nov. 1 and Saturday, Nov. 2. Both contests are set to begin at 6:00 p.m. with coverage on ESPN+.
Toledo sits in third place in the MAC standings with an overall record of 15-8 (8-3 MAC) after winning six of their last seven matchups. The Rockets are one game behind Central Michigan and Bowling Green who are tied for first with a league mark of 9-2.
Western Michigan has an overall record of 11-11 (7-4 MAC) and is in a three-way tie for fifth place in the conference standings with Ball State and Eastern Michigan.
ROCKET NOTES
- Toledo is third in the MAC and 36th in the country in team service aces (147) while ranking fourth in the league in aces per set (1.71).
- Taylor Alt ranks third in the conference in kills per set (3.80) and total kills (323). Alt's 323 total kills rank 43rd in the nation.
- Freshman libero Grace Freiberger is second in the MAC and 44th in the country in digs per set, averaging 4.67.
- Sophomore setter Macy Hatkevich is sixth in the league in assists per set with 8.13.
- Redshirt freshman middle blocker Sierra Pertzborn is sixth in the conference with 1.04 blocks per set.
SCOUTING THE BRONCOS
- Western Michigan leads the MAC in assists per set (13.03), kills per set (13.70) and digs per set (16.67).
- Fifth-year outside hitter Keona Salesman is seventh in the league in kills per set (3.24), while senior outside hitter Julia Marr follows behind in 10th (3.10 kills per set).
- Fifth-year setter Logan Case leads the conference in assists per set, averaging 11.54.
- Fifth-year senior libero Andelyn Simkins sits in second in the MAC in digs per set, tallying 4.65.

- Western Michigan leads the all-time series, 62-16.
- Last meeting: MAC Tournament Semifinals on Nov. 19. Western Michigan won, 3-0.
