CLEVELAND, Ohio – Toledo women's basketball graduate student
Sammi Mikonowicz was named to the Mid-American Conference Preseason All-MAC second team, the league office announced during its preseason media day on Tuesday.

Mikonowicz is coming off a Third-Team All-MACÂ season last year and was one of 10 selections to Preseason All-MAC teams. She averaged 9.1 points, 5.9 rebounds, 1.6 assists and set a career high with 35 steals (1.0/game) in 2023-24, shooting 45.0% from the field and 78.1% from the free-throw line. She started all 34 games and played 1,116 minutes, averaging 32.8 per game and reaching the 1,100-minute mark for the third straight season.

In league ranks, Mikonowicz was in the top 20 in several categories including 12th in rebounding average, 13th in average minutes, 16th in field goals made (112) and 19th in field goal percentage.

She also became Toledo's 33
rd 1000-point scorer in program history last season, reaching the mark on Feb. 3 against Bowling Green.

The Rockets were selected fifth in the preseason poll among the league's coaches, receiving 82 votes. Toledo also received one vote as the tournament champion. Ball State, which finished second last year with a 16-2 league record was picked first and as the league champion.

Toledo finished 28-6 overall and 17-1 in league play in 2023-24 to capture its third consecutive MAC regular-season crown and advanced to the Women's Basketball Invitation Tournament (WBIT) quarterfinals. The Rockets will begin their season at home against Marshall on Monday, Nov. 4 at 7:00 p.m. in Savage Arena.
