TOLEDO, Ohio – The University of Toledo Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) is partnering with the University of Toledo Police Department and the Launch Pad to host Clash of the Cans: Rockets vs. Falcons Food Drive. All donations made will benefit Rocket Fuel, the student food pantry on campus that provides food aid for UToledo students who are in need. 

The drive is a competition between Toledo and Bowling Green students and will take place from Tuesday, Oct. 1 – Tuesday, Oct. 22. 

To help support the Rocket Fuel food pantry, there will be opportunities at seven home sporting events to donate, including women's volleyball (Oct. 1, Oct. 10 and Oct. 11), women's soccer (Oct. 6 and Oct. 13) and football (Oct. 5). Individuals can also donate items in various areas around main campus and the health science campus, including the Rocket Ticket Office at Savage Arena and the Academic Center at Larimer.  

Acceptable items to donate include canned goods, rice/pasta/beans/oatmeal, cereal, granola bars, popcorn, trail mix, water, and non-food items. If unable to provide food, dollar donations will also be accepted. 

The winner of the Clash of the Cans: Rockets vs. Falcons food drive will be announced at the Battle of I-75 football game between Toledo and Bowling Green at the Glass Bowl on Saturday, Oct. 26.
