ATHENS, Greece – The Toledo women's basketball team flew from Santorini back to Athens on Sunday as its foreign trip nears its end.
After a few wonderful days on the island of Santorini, the Rockets enjoyed one final morning at their hotel before heading to the airport to fly back to Athens. Sailing, hiking, sightseeing, and so much more highlighted their time in Santorini.
"I loved Santorini," Jessica Cook said. "I'm a shopper, I really enjoyed walking around and going in all the little shops. I loved seeing the sunset too, having dinner with a view of the sunset was just gorgeous."
Upon their return to Athens, the Rockets bused to the resort they'll be staying at for the next two nights before flying home on Tuesday.
"Everything has been great so far," Cook said. "I've never been overseas before so I'm just living in the moment and enjoying this great experience. It's been so interesting to see all the cultural differences between here and back home. I'm so happy to be here."
Monday will be Toledo's final full day in Greece. A kayak excursion was canceled due to windy weather, so the Rockets will have a free day at the resort to enjoy as they please before reconvening for one last team dinner tomorrow night.
