Toledo Leads Conference with Four Academic All-MAC Honorees

TOLEDO, Ohio - The University of Toledo men's golf program has four student-athletes on the Academic All-MAC team, the league office announced on Thursday. The Rockets' total of four honorees marks the fifth-straight season that four or more Toledo golfers have been honored and the second-consecutive year UT has topped the conference.

Senior NJ Botha received Academic All-MAC honors for a third time, while juniors Barend Botha and Jamie Tofte Nielsen were recognized for a second time. Senior Palmer Yenrick was honored for the first time in his collegiate career.

NJ Botha is leading the Rockets with a 3.88 grade-point average, while Yenrick possesses a 3.76 GPA in finance.

The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport. First-year students and transfers in their first year of residence are not eligible for the award.
