TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo women's basketball team will be taking an international trip later this summer when it heads to Greece from August 5-15.
The 11-day trip will feature a pair of games against to-be-determined opponents as well as plenty of sightseeing and other activities.
"I have really enjoyed taking teams internationally to build team chemistry, gain extra practice and game experience, as well as learn about other cultures," head coach Tricia Cullop said. "In the past, we have traveled to Israel, England, Spain, and Italy. With five new players joining our roster and Hannah Noveroske returning, it is the perfect time for us to go. We are thrilled that several Rocket fans will be traveling with us for what should prove to be an unforgettable trip."
The Rockets' travel party will depart on Saturday, Aug. 5 and arrive in Greece on Sunday, Aug. 6. Toledo will play games on Monday, Aug. 7 and Tuesday, Aug. 8 in Athens.
Off the court, the travel party will enjoy a tour of Athens, a visit to the Acropolis, a multi-day stay in nearby Santorini, and other activities that will provide an opportunity to experience the local culture.
The NCAA permits foreign trips once every four years. The Rockets went to Italy during their last trip in 2019. Per NCAA rules, Toledo will be allowed 10 extra practices leading up to its trip.
