Toledo has posted 970 APR figure or better in eight straight years
TOLEDO, Ohio - The NCAA released its annual Academic Progress Rate (APR) figures for the four-year period from 2018-19 and 2021-22, and the University of Toledo men's basketball program posted an impressive score of 990.
Toledo also topped the MAC in the 2015-16 and 2016-17 campaigns. The Rockets have posted at least a 970 APR in each of the past eight years.
"Our program has a strong commitment to academic success and these numbers reflect that," Head Coach Tod Kowalczyk said. "We aim to do the best we can on the court and in the classroom, and I want to thank everyone in our program for doing their best to provide the best educational experience for our players."
APR is a gauge of every team's academic performance at a given point in time. Points are awarded on a semester-by-semester basis for eligibility, retention and graduation of scholarship student-athletes. "1000" is considered a perfect score. Sports that fail to reach the "cut point" (930) can be penalized with the loss of scholarships, practice restrictions and post-season bans. The APR data released today is a cumulative figure taken from the 2018-19, 2019-20, 2020-21 and 2021-22 school years.
