TOLEDO, Ohio – Toledo's
Pawit Sornlaksup was named Mid-American Conference Men's Tennis Singles Player of the Week for the fourth time this season, the league announced on Thursday.
Sornalskup helped Toledo (11-5, 3-2 MAC) pick two wins in New York state over the weekend, defeating Buffalo 5-2 on Friday afternoon and Binghamton 6-1 on Sunday morning.
The Rayong, Thailand was perfect over the weekend from the No. 1 singles court, defeating UB's Aleksandr Kalinin and BU's Michael Pawlowicz both in two sets each. The victory extends Sornlaksup's singles winning streak to 36 matches and and his MAC singles streak to 17-straight matches.
Sornlaksup has been recognized by the conference as Player of the Week three other times this season and eight times overall in his career. He also was named the MAC Male Scholar-Athlete of the Week on Wednesday.
Toledo will play one match vs. Ball State this Friday at Shadow Valley Tennis club.
