Rockets visit Horizon League’s IUPUI on Saturday afternoon
Toledo, Ohio – The Toledo men's tennis team has one match on its calendar this weekend, a trip across the state boarder to Indianapolis, Ind. on Saturday, Feb. 3. to take on IUPUI. The Rockets and Jaguars will play at 3:00 p.m. in the West Indy Racquet Club.
"This week has given us a good chance to check off some boxes and focus on getting better, as we have some team goals to pursue," head coach Al Wermer said. "IUPUI is always dangerous. They've played some solid matches against good teams."
About the Rockets
Toledo improved to 2-2 last weekend with a 7-0 victory over 2022 Horizon League Champions Youngstown State last Friday. The Rockets won the doubles point and five of the singles court in two sets. Junor Vlad Meluta forced a third set decision after losing his opening set from the No. 6 court, won the second set, and put the match away with a 10-6 super tiebreaker final.
Junior Pawit Sornlaksup and senior Marko Galic added singles victories to their already impressive win-streak. Sornlaksup has won 25-straight singles matches from the No. 1 spot, dating back to last January, while Galic has won his last 11 matches from the No. 5 court.
