TOLEDO, Ohio – Director of Cross Country and Track & Field
Andrea Grove-McDonough announced the hiring of
Spencer Cameron-Pressley as the assistant women's track & field coach. Cameron-Pressley, who will work primarily with sprinters and jumpers, comes to Toledo from Heidelberg University.
"I am very excited about adding Coach Spencer to our staff," Grove-McDonough said. "He brings a ton of energy and enthusiasm and has already hit the ground running. We are very focused on building up the strength of our power/speed event areas, and I know Coach Spencer is up to the task."
Cameron-Pressley was an assistant coach for Heidelberger's track & field team, specializing in sprinting and jumping.
He helped coach a national qualifier in the men's long jump, 58 conference qualifiers, eight All-Atlantic Region (AARTFC) meet qualifiers. He helped Mackenzie Murray break her own school record marks in the pole vault, Alex Morgan post an eighth-place OAC finish in the 400H and 4x400m relay, and Carson Lehrer register an 11th-place OAC finish in the 100m as a freshman.
Prior to his stint at Heidelberg, Cameron-Pressley served as an assistant coach for both track & field (2020-21) and football (2019-21) at his alma mater Buffalo State College. Cameron-Pressley was a four-year varsity track & field athlete and three-year varsity football lineman for the Bengals.
Originally from New Rochelle, N.Y., Cameron-Pressley graduated Cum Laude with a bachelor's degree in sociology from Buffalo State College in 2019. He received a master's degree in sociology from the University at Buffalo in 2021.
