Rocket fans can hear from head coaches and student-athletes each Monday at DCA luncheons in the Grogan Room of Savage Arena.
Downtown Coaches Association Luncheons Begin Monday, Aug. 29

TOLEDO, Ohio – The Downtown Coaches Association (DCA) will begin its weekly luncheons for the 2022-23 athletic year on Monday, Aug. 29 in the Joe Grogan Room in Savage Arena. The luncheons take place at 11:30 a.m. every Monday during the school year (except for Labor Day Monday when the luncheon will be moved to Tuesday, Sept. 6)
The DCAÂ is a support group whose purpose is to promote, encourage and stimulate interest in intercollegiate athletics at the University of Toledo. Â It was founded in 1937 by athletic director and head football coach Doc Spears. For more than 80 years, the DCA has sponsored Monday luncheons and assisted in the department's fundraising efforts, such as the 50/50 raffle at football and basketball games.
The weekly DCA luncheons create exclusive relationships between members and Rockets athletics coaches and student-athletes. Coaches give insight into their programs and preview upcoming games. Student-athletes speak about their athletic exploits, as well as their academic and personal lives. DCA members are given the opportunity to ask questions of coaches and student-athletes.
A buffet-style luncheon is available for $15 beginning at 11:30 a.m. every Monday, with the program starting at noon. Anyone interested in Rocket Athletics is encouraged to attend. Annual DCA membership is $40 for an individual and $50 for a couple. Rocket fans can join the DCA by visiting UTRockets.com/DCA or by calling 419-530-5087.
PARKING:Â Park only in Parking Area 4 and enter from the Rocket Plaza entrance and proceed up to the Joe Grogan Room. The parking lot will not open until 11:00 a.m.
