EUGENE, OREG. – Toledo junior
Faith Linga competed in her first NCAA Track and Field National Championship 10,000m race in Eugene, Ore. on Thursday. Linga ran a 34:19.43 and finished 21st overall.
Linga beat her previous time of 34:27.92 in the 10K, which she ran two weeks ago in Bloomington, Ind. (May 25) at the NCAA East Regional Preliminary meet. Alabama's Mercy Chelangat won the race on Thursday with a season-best time of 32:37.07.
Linga still owns the third-best time in Toledo history for the 10K, a time of 33:39.46, that she set at the Virginia Challenge (April 22) earlier this season.
