Bryan Blair: Together, We Can Take Our Rockets to Unprecedented Heights

Dear Rocket Nation,

Today, I am honored to begin my service as your Vice President and Director of Athletics!

I've been looking forward to saying that for some time now. Since the official announcement of my appointment more than two months ago, I have been busy —relocating my family of four across the country, engaging with Toledo student-athletes, coaches, administrators, community leaders, alumni, supporters and fans, and thinking about what the first 90 days will look like. These next three months will consist of listening, learning and leading, in that order, as I seek input, develop relationships, identify opportunities and boldly prepare for the future.

I have been very candid about my vision in early conversations: win championships, graduate student-athletes with meaningful degrees and experiences, and serve our amazing campus and community. Together, we will take our athletics program to unprecedented heights and become the nation's premier Group of Five athletic program.

This journey won't be easy. It will take all of us - the athletic department, the university, the community – locked arm in arm, pulling in the same direction and proudly representing Toledo. When we do that, the possibilities are endless!

Lastly, thank you to countless members of the Toledo community for the warm welcome. My family and I have been so touched by the outpouring of support and we can't thank you enough for easing the transition to our new home. Jenna and I are excited to explore everything that this great community has to offer with our children, Brielle and Beau. I am more convinced than ever that Toledo is the perfect fit for me and for my family.

The future of Toledo Athletics is bright, and together, we will ensure that our next chapter is the best ever.
