KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Sophomore
Lou Trois won the 1500m on the final day of competition to lead Toledo to a sixth-place finish at the 2022 Mid-American Conference Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Kalamazoo, Mich. on Saturday.  The Rockets ended the meet with 71 points, just one point behind fifth-place Miami. Akron won the championship with 124 team points.
All three of UT's runners in the 1500m race finished in the top 10, collecting 16 team points and two podium finishes. Trois crossed first with a personal-best time of 4:19.45. It was the third-best time in the 1500m ever for a Rocket, surpassing Brianna Shook (2004, 4:51). Senior
Semra Karaslan took third with a time of 4:24.13, which also put her in the all-time top-10. Sophomore
Emily Vining rounded the top-10 with a 10th-place finish at 4:36.75.
Freshman
Margrett Watt and sophomore
Krystal Clark finished on the podium in the 800m. Watt came in second at 2:08.27, which is the second-best time in Toledo history, while Clark finished sixth at 2:13.30 to earn a combined 11 team points for the Rockets.
Sophomore
Madeline Vining was the final podium finisher for the Rockets. She finished fourth in the 5000m (17:09.20) to collect five points.
Over three days of competition, Toledo had 12 podium finishes, including two gold, three silver, and two bronze medals.
