TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo men's tennis team will travel to Muncie, Ind. for a single Mid-American Conference matchup this weekend vs. Ball State. First serve between the Cardinals and Rockets is 1:00 p.m. at the Cardinal Creek Tennis Center, weather permitting.

This is the second time this season Toledo (11-6, 4-1 MAC) and Ball State (8-7, 3-2 MAC) will go head-to-head before the conference tournament at the end of this month. Toledo defeated the Cardinals at home on March 19. The MAC Men's Tennis Championship Tournament will take place Saturday-Sunday, April 23-24 in Kalamazoo, Mich.

"We're excited to start the second half of MAC season," head coach Al Wermer said. "It's going to be a fun three weekends."

Last Time Out
Toledo won its third straight conference match and sixth straight home match this weekend following a 6-1 victory vs. Buffalo (March 25) and a 7-0 sweep vs. Binghamton (March 27). Sophomore Pawit Sornlaksup has won his last 15 singles matches, all from the No. 1 court, and is 5-0 vs. conference opponents, while juniors Marko Galic and Krzysztof Wetoszka have each won their last three singles matches. As a duo, Sornlaksup and Galic have won seven straight matches from the No. 1 doubles court.

Sornlaksup's efforts earned him a MAC Player of the Week nod, the third time this season.

Head coach Al Wermer earned his 294th and 295th career victories last weekend. At the helm of the Rockets in 1996, Wermer is the winningest tennis coach in Toledo history.
