TOLEDO, Ohio – Senior
Joelle Gallais and sophomore
Madison Giglio will open the postseason at the NCAA Zone C Diving Championships in Ann Arbor, Mich. on March 7-9.Â
Giglio will compete on the one-and three-meter boards, while Gallais will compete on the platform. Women's one-meter will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, three-meter will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, and platform dive will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday.
Qualifiers
Gallais qualified for NCAA Zones early into this season, at the West Virginia Diving Invitational on Nov. 11. Gallais finished first in the prelims of the platform dive and scored a 229.75.
Giglio qualified three times for NCAA Zones, twice in the one-meter and once in the three-meter. Giglio took first in the one-meter dive with a score of 268.35 vs. Akron on Jan. 28. In the final dual meet of the season, Giglio took first in the three-meter with a career-best 312.83 and finished runner up on the one-meter with a career-best 273.75.
Diving Last Time Out
Toledo took eighth place with 233.5 points at the Mid-American Conference Championships at Bowling Green, Ohio on Feb. 23-25. In the three-meter event, senior
Joelle Gallais took fifth with a 259.75 final mark, while sophomore
Madison Giglio finished 14th in the consolation bracket with a 255.90 final mark.
