BOCA RATON, Fla. - Day Two at the Roofclaim.com Boca Raton Bowl on Saturday featured Toledo's first of its three bowl practices at Boca Raton High School, as well as a team beach party.

The Rockets practiced for a solid two hours in the early afternoon, the longest of Toledo's three scheduled practice sessions, then loaded their buses and headed straight for the beach at Benny's on the Beach in nearby Lake Worth, Fla. where they enjoyed food, swimming, beach fun and fishing off the pier.

"Today was an abbreviated practice. We got most of our stuff done early in the week, so we were able to come down here and enjoy the trip," said Head Coach Jason Candle. "Obviously, there were some mistakes we need to clean up, and some t's we have to cross and i's we have to dot for our game plan. We'll get back tonight and watch the tape, get a good walk-through tomorrow and then fine-tune things on Monday."

Toledo's players enjoyed the opportunity to get on the field and practice in temperatures hovering in the mid-70's.

"It felt great to practice outside. It was a little cloudy but it was definitely warmer than it is in Toledo," said senior offensive lineman Mitchell Berg, a native of Maumee, Ohio who attended Toledo St. John's Jesuit High School. "We're grateful for the opportunity to be down here. Being a Toledo native, being able to represent Toledo here is a big deal for me. This is something for the city to celebrate and we know we're backed by the city. We take great pride in that."

The Rockets will have two more practices on Sunday and Monday before squaring off against Liberty on game day on Tuesday (7:30 p.m./ESPN). Upcoming team activities include a team bowling event and a visit to Baptist Health Boca Raton Hospital for selected players on Sunday. The Roofclaim.com Boca Raton Bowl Kickoff Luncheon will be on Monday at noon at the Palm Beach County Convention Center.
