TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo women's basketball team signed two student-athletes to National Letters of Intent on Wednesday. Cadence Dykstra (Grand Rapids, Mich.) and Macey Fegan (Bentley, Mich.) will both join the Rocket Basketball program next season.
"We are so excited to welcome Cadence and Macey to our Rocket family," head coach Tricia Cullop said. "Cadence is a very intelligent point guard who is an incredible passer, strong ball handler and can score at all three levels. We see Macey playing the stretch four position and molding her into a future wing player. Macey is a terrific athlete, who can really score and rebound the ball. We love that they both are always in the gym trying to find ways to get better. They are strong students, talented basketball players and wonderful people."

Cadence Dykstra | Guard | Grand Rapids, Mich. | Grand Rapids West Catholic High School
Dykstra is a three-time all-conference honoree at Grand Rapids West Catholic High School, where she has helped lead her team to a 58-4 combined record the last three seasons. She helped West Catholic win back-to-back district titles as a freshman and sophomore, and nearly helped lead her team to a third straight district championship as a junior in 2021-22. A two-time team captain, Dykstra has earned all-state honors from the Basketball Coaches Association of Michigan (BCAM) each of the last two seasons. She will earn her fourth varsity letter in basketball this season and is also a three-year letterwinner in volleyball. An outstanding student, Dykstra has earned her school's Gold GPA Award (GPA of 4.0 or higher) every year of her high school career.
Why Cadence Chose Toledo: "I chose Toledo because of the family atmosphere, the community support, and the amazing team and coaching staff."
High School Coach Jill Vanderende: "Cadence is an exceptional floor general, often leading her teammates to easy buckets with her excellent court vision and skill. You will immediately notice her tenacity on defense. She is always willing to set the tone, grind and cover for a teammate who needs help. Cadence's character is top-notch on and off the court. She is often leading wherever she goes. She is a natural-born leader and will make a big impact the moment she arrives on campus."
AAU Coach Larry Copeland: "Cadence was a pleasure to coach and to have in the program. When she was on the floor, I always knew we were in good hands. She is one of the best competitors I have ever coached."

Macey Fegan | Forward | Bentley, Mich. | Standish-Sterling Central High School
Fegan is a two-time AP First-Team All-State selection at Standish-Sterling Central High School. She averaged 29.9 PPG as a junior in 2021-22 and helped lead her team to a 17-6 record and a fourth consecutive district championship. Fegan will enter her senior season with 1,577 career points, just 22 shy of the school record, which was set by former Rocket Basketball player Kelly Walker (2000-04). She is a three-time all-conference honoree and has led the area in scoring each of the last two seasons. A well-rounded athlete, Fegan is also a three-year letterwinner in softball and has earned varsity letters in volleyball and swimming as well.
Why Macey Chose Toledo: "I chose Toledo because of the huge amount of support the women's basketball program gets in the community and for the environment surrounding the team."
High School Coach Denny Wendel: "Macey is a once-in-a-lifetime player that coaches dream of being able to coach. She has worked so hard throughout her career and I couldn't be more proud her. I know she is going do great at Toledo and she will continue to strive for excellence."
AAU Coach Rob Ruhstorfer: "It was a true joy to coach a competitive player like Macey Fegan. It will be hard to replace someone in a program that gave you 100% every possession. Get ready Toledo to fall in love with this hard-working young lady. "
