TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo women's basketball team heads east for a matinee matchup with Loyola Maryland this week. The Rockets (4-2) and Greyhounds (4-3) will tip off at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 30 at Reitz Arena.
Wednesday's game will be streamed live on ESPN+.
Toledo is coming off a 1-1 week at the Daytona Beach Invitational, dropping a hard-fought 60-59 decision to Penn State before defeating UT Arlington by a score of 80-70. In the win over the Mavericks,
Sammi Mikonowicz led Toledo with a career-high 24 points on 9-of-12 shooting, while also adding five rebounds and a team-best three steals.
Quinesha Lockett contributed 19 points, six assists, and five rebounds, bringing her career point total to 1,483, which puts her ninth all-time in school history. Lockett did the bulk of her damage at the free throw line, sinking 8-of-9 shots.
Lockett is averaging a team-best 16.5 PPG this season and has reached double figures in scoring in five of Toledo's six games. Mikonowicz leads the Rockets in rebounding, averaging 7.5 per game which is tied for sixth in the MAC.
The Rockets and Greyhounds met at Savage Arena last season in a game UT won 75-53. Lockett paced Toledo in the second half of that game, scoring 24 of her 30 points after halftime.
Sophia Wiard nearly registered a triple-double, scoring 12 points while collecting nine rebounds and seven assists.
Following Wednesday's game at Loyola, Toledo returns home to host Missouri State on Sunday, Dec. 4 at 1:00 p.m.

- Saturday's win over UT Arlington gave head coach Tricia Cullop her 300th career victory at Toledo. Already the program's all-time winningest coach, Cullop now sports a 300-160 record in her 15th season at Toledo, and a 423-270 overall mark in 23 years as a head coach, including eight seasons as the leader at Evansville from 2000-08.
- Quinesha Lockett has officially cracked the Top 10 in career points at Toledo, sitting in ninth place entering Wednesday's game with 1,483 points. She is 90 points away from moving into eighth place and passing Kaayla McIntyre (2015-19). Kim Knuth (1995-99) is Toledo's all-time leading scorer with 2,509 career points,
- The Rockets are one of the best teams in the country at taking care of the ball, ranking eighth in the country in fewest turnovers per game (11.0).
- Toledo has scored 80 or more points three times in the first six games of the season.
- Three different Rockets have tallied double-doubles (Jessica Cook, Quinesha Lockett, and Sammi Mikonowicz), making Toledo one of just two MAC schools to have three different players with double-doubles, the other being Eastern Michigan.
- Mikonowicz is tied for sixth in the MAC in rebounding (7.5) and has led Toledo in rebounds in three of six contests.
- Mikonowicz has also been an expert thief as of late, tallying three steals in each of the last three games.
- Cook is shooting a team-best 61.5% from the floor and has shot at least 60% or highest in four of six games. In her last game against UT Arlington, she made all five shots from the floor and was a perfect 2-for-2 from the free-throw line.
- Khera Goss is shooting 50.0% from the floor and has cracked double figures in scoring three times, including tying a career high with 13 points vs. UT Arlington.
- Justina King has been nearly automatic at the charity stripe, knocking down 14-of-15 free throws (93.3%). She ranks second in the MAC in free throw percentage. King's only missed free throw attempt was her first of the season, meaning she has made 14 free throws in a row in game action.
- As a team, the Rockets have done an excellent job of getting to the free throw line this season. Through six games they're averaging 22.3 free throw attempts per game, most in the MAC and 32nd in the country.
- Sophia Wiard has led the MAC in assist/turnover ratio each of the last two seasons, and this year she ranks fourth in the league with an A/T ratio of 2.40.
About Loyola Maryland
The Greyhounds are 4-3 on the season and have won four of their last five games. Their most recent outing was a 60-51 home win over Delaware State last Saturday. Loyola is led offensively by senior Taleah Dixon, who averages 16.1 PPG and is shooting 42.9 percent from three-point range. Sophomore Lex Therien is averaging a double-double (15.3 PPG and 10.7 RPG) and is tied for seventh in the country with four double-doubles. As a team, Loyola averages 59.1 PPG while allowing 58.6 PPG and is shooting 41.2 percent from the floor.
