TOLEDO, Ohio – The University of Toledo Athletic Department will embark on a new philanthropic initiative with the purpose of generating new revenues to support Rocket student-athletes in their academic, athletic and personal pursuits, Toledo Vice President and Director of Athletics Bryan B. Blair announced today.
The 1923 Society, named to commemorate the year the "Rockets" nickname was first used to describe the athletic teams at The University of Toledo, will make an immediate and lasting impact on the success of Toledo Athletics.
"I am excited to announce this dynamic new initiative that we believe will have a transformative impact on the lives our student-athletes and the trajectory of our athletics program," said Toledo Vice President and Director of Athletics Bryan B. Blair. "Working with our supporters, alumni and the Toledo community, the 1923 Society will help position us to become one of the premier Group of Five programs in the country. I am excited for the future of Toledo Athletics."
The 1923 Society is reserved for donors who make five-year philanthropic gift commitments of $25,000 or more in support of Toledo Athletics. These leadership gift commitments are made above and beyond any Rocket Fund contributions made for premium seating and parking.
Through their philanthropy, this exclusive group of Toledo supporters who join in a shared vision will allow us to fulfill our mission of:
- Providing championship-caliber services to our student-athletes in their pursuits academically, athletically, and personally.
- Delivering the best student-athlete experience in the MAC.
- Representing the University of Toledo with integrity, class, and distinction.
While the 1923 Society is philanthropic in nature, members will enjoy unique and specialized stewardship opportunities throughout the year, giving supporters a deeper and more meaningful engagement with Toledo Athletics. Members will have the opportunity to enjoy exclusive engagements in line with their level of giving. These opportunities may include but are not limited to special access to Athletics and University leadership, exclusive game-day access and recognition, and intimate involvement with those directly impacted by your support.
There are a variety of ways to give, including cash, credit card, check, or other personal assets. Flexible payment options are available, including yearly quarterly, and monthly gifts.
Commitments can be pledged to one of the following fund designations:
- Athletic Director's Excellence Fund
- Academic Success Fund
- Capital Projects Fund
- Sport-Specific Giving
