TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo women's volleyball team faces a pair of MAC East foes this weekend, visiting Miami on Friday evening before playing arch-rival Bowling Green on Saturday.
Friday's contest against the RedHawks is set to begin at 6:00 p.m. and Saturday's Battle of I-75 presented by Cooper Tires will start at 4:00 p.m. at the Stroh Center.
Toledo enters the weekend in a three-way tie for fourth place in the MAC standings. Bowling Green and Ball State lead each division with 9-2 league records, and Ohio sits alone in third place with an 8-3 MAC ledger. Toledo, Northern Illinois, and Central Michigan all sit at 7-4 entering play this weekend. The top six teams in the regular season will advance to the MAC Tournament, which will be hosted by the regular-season champion.

Toledo split its weekend series with Northern Illinois at home last weekend.
In Friday's three-set sweep, The Rockets won the first two sets without much resistance, 25-16 and 25-15, but needed a late comeback in the third set to win, 25-22, and complete the sweep. Toledo held Northern Illinois to a .103 attack percentage in Friday's match. Offensively,
Taylor Alt and
Jada Bouyer led the charge with 13 kills and
Olivia Vance was close behind with 10. Vance and Bouyer had efficient nights, hitting .556 and .423, respectively.
Following the three-set sweep on Friday, UT won the first set on Saturday, 25-22, to take an early lead in the match. The Huskies responded by outlasting Toledo in the second set to win 26-24, then won the third set 25-18 to take a 2-1 advantage. NIU opened up a large cushion in the fourth set, and a late UT comeback proved to be too little too late as NIU won 25-19 to win the match.
Taylor Alt led all players with 21 kills on Saturday and hit .348 while adding nine digs.
Jada Bouyer and
Olivia Vance both hit double figures in kills as well, collecting 12 and 10 terminations, respectively.

Miami (6-16, 1-10 MAC) will be looking to snap an eight-match losing streak on Friday against the Rockets. Its lone conference win was a five-set victory over Kent State on Sept. 30. Allyson Severance leads the RedHawks and ranks fifth in the MAC in kills, averaging 3.14 per set.
About Bowling Green
Bowling Green (14-8, 9-2 MAC) has won five of its last six matches and will host Ball State on Friday night in a battle of first-place teams in the MAC. BGSU ranks third in both blocks (2.16/set) and opponent attack percentage (.188) and has held conference opponents to a .168 attack percentage in MAC play.
