TOLEDO, Ohio – Junior outside hitter Taylor Alt of the Toledo women's volleyball team was named MAC West Offensive Player of the Week on Monday.
Alt had another highly productive weekend for Toledo this past weekend at Western Michigan, averaging 5.00 kills/set and helping the Rockets split their two matches against the Broncos. Alt tallied 14 kills in Friday's match and officially eclipsed 1,000 career kills, becoming the 11th player in program history to do so.
One day after her historic personal milestone, Alt led Toledo to a four-set win over Western Michigan by registering 21 kills and a .349 attack percentage while adding 11 digs. It marked her fifth double-double of the season and the third time this season she has had at least 20 kills in a match.
Alt leads the MAC in kills (3.95/set) and scoring (4.55 points/set).
This is Alt's first Player of the Week honor this season and the fourth of her career.
The Rockets will play three matches at home this week, beginning on Wednesday with a matchup against Ball State at 6:00 p.m. Toledo welcomes Northern Illinois to Savage Arena this weekend.
