TOLEDO, Ohio - Kyle Edmond has been named to the position of assistant director of athletic communications at the University of Toledo, the University announced today.
Edmond will serve as the primary communications contact for women's soccer, softball, women's swimming & diving, men's tennis and women's tennis. He will also assist with the overall efforts to publicize and promote all of UToledo's 16 varsity sports.Â
A native of Tiffin, Ohio, Edmond earned a bachelor's degree in sports management from Bowling Green in 2019. He was a student assistant for the Falcons' athletic communication office, then served the past two years as a strategic communications intern. He also served as a media relations intern for the Toledo Mudhens for the 2019 season, and had a brief stint as the sports information director at Owens Community College this past summer before joining the Rockets.Â
Edmond has a family history in the athletic communications field, as his grandfather, Dick Edmond, served nine years as the sports information director at Heidelberg University, and his father, Todd Edmond, was a student assistant in the Toledo Sports Information Office from 1989-92.
Edmond and his fiancee, Megan, are the proud owners of a two-year old golden retriever, Honey.
