STOW, Ohio – The Toledo women's golf team sits in fourth place following the first two rounds of the Mid-American Conference Championships that were played Friday at the par-72, 6,277-yard Silver Lake Country Club.
"I'm proud of our fight today in what is the first conference championship for everyone on our team," Head Coach Jenny Coluccio said. "We battled all day through lower temperatures, wind and a challenging course setup. There are areas we want to tidy up for tomorrow's final round, and I'm confident in our abilities to make the necessary adjustments and improve upon today."
Freshman Angel Hii is leading the Rockets and tied for 11th place at 12-over par 156 (79-77). Freshman Cheryl Hong (79-78) and sophomore Amelia Lee (78-80) are right behind Hii tied for 16th and 19th place, respectively. As a team, the Rockets shot rounds of 317 and 318.
Freshman Kait Natividad (81-86) is tied for 40th place, while freshman Macy Hanus (86-83) is in 44th place.
The tournament's final round will be held tomorrow with tee times beginning at 8:30 a.m.
