TOLEDO, Ohio – University of Toledo men's tennis coach Al Wermer has announced the signing of Pawit Sornlaksup (Rayong, Thailand) to a National Letter of Intent. Sornlaksup will join the Rockets for the 2021-22 season.

"Pawit's tennis resume is packed with results that are trending up," Wermer said. "His most impressive trait may be what people say about his unselfish fighting team spirit."

Sornlaksup earned 2020 ITA NJCAA All-America honors in doubles play while at ASA Miami College, helping his team reach a No. 4 national ranking in the Oracle/ITA NJCAA poll. The Thailand native ranked third in the Oracle/ITA national doubles rankings with teammate Yassir Kilani and No. 30 nationally in singles play that season.

In international play, Sornlaksup won the doubles championship at the 9th ASEAN School Games in 2017, teaming with Noppadol Noikor to claim the gold medal in that event. His play helped Thailand place first at that event as well. Sornlaksup also won titles in singles and doubles play at the 2019 PTT Championship and he won a single crown at the 2019 Thailand National Student Championship as well.
