TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo men's golf team travels to Iowa City, Iowa to compete in Iowa's 27
th-annual Hawkeye Invitational on Saturday-Sunday, April 17-18. The two-day event will be played on Iowa's par-72, 7,157-yard Finkbine Golf Course with live scoring available at golfstat.com and on the
Golfstat app. Play will begin with an 8:30 a.m. (CT) shotgun start each day.
The Rockets will be competing against three Mid-American Conference schools - Ball State, Miami and Northern Illinois - as well as Creighton, DePaul, Drake, Grand Canyon, Kansas, Marquette, South Dakota State, Wisconsin and the host Hawkeyes.
Toledo's lineup will include junior
David Amm at No. 1, freshman
Barend Botha at No. 2, sophomore
NJ Botha at No. 3, senior
Nate Thomson at No. 4 and junior Muhammed
Afif Mohd Fathi at No. 5.
Barend Botha leads the Rockets with a 73.1 stroke average.
Toledo is participating in the Hawkeye Invitational for the first time in program history.
Iowa will attempt to defend the title it captured in record-breaking fashion in 2019. The Hawkeyes shattering their school 54-hole record by 24 strokes with an amazing total of 43-under par 809 (-43) showing.
