TOLEDO, Ohio – The University of Toledo women's swimming and diving team honored six student-athletes prior to its final home meet of the season against Buffalo on Friday. UB came away with a 170-107 victory.
"The team had a lot of really strong performances against Buffalo," head coach Brie Globig said. "We have been working hard on technique and specific stroke work; it was good to see it start to come through in their races."
Lisa Eriksson, Izzy Jones, Emma Sampson, Ally Sperring, Gracie Storm, and Lauren Wegener were all honored prior to the start of the meet during the team's Senior Day ceremony.
"Our six seniors have so much spirit and presence on our team," Globig said. "Their leadership has shaped a culture I'm endlessly proud of. We are going to miss them next year, but I know they will go on to do great things."
Toledo swimmers claimed two victories in the pool on Friday, both courtesy of sophomore Lauren Kilgore. The Niles, Mich. native won twice, touching the wall first in the 50 breaststroke (30.16) and in the 150 breaststroke (1:42.70).
There were 13 other top-three finishes for Toledo swimmers against the Bulls. Sophomore Jovana Duric finished in second place in two different freestyle events, registering a time of 8:16.30 in the 800 free and 4:03.49 in the 400 free. Freshman Sydney Conrad placed second in the 50 butterfly (26.11).
On the diving boards, freshman Madison Giglio placed second on one-meter with her mark of 232.88, and she posted the highest three-meter score as well (240.08).

Toledo has one more dual meet left at Miami on Saturday, March 20 before gearing up for the Mid-American Conference Championships on April 15-17.
