TOLEDO, Ohio - The University of Toledo women's track and field team will be traveling to Mt. Pleasant, Mich. to compete at the MAC Indoor Track & Field Championships on Friday-Saturday, Feb. 26-27.

"We are very thankful to still have a conference championship given everything that has happened over the course of the past year," said Head Coach Andrea Grove-McDonough. "We have some younger athletes who are looking to gain experience by competing at the MAC Championships. We are also looking forward to carrying the momentum from the indoor MAC Championships into the outdoor season."

Junior Semra Karaslan is a Toledo favorite to do well in the 3000m race. Karaslan had an impressive third-place finish this year at the Darius Dixon Invitational with a time of 9:35.03. Also competing in the 3000m race are sophomore sisters Emily Vining and Madeline Vining. Emily finished first in the 3000m race followed by Madeline in second at the CMU Invitational with personal-best times of 10:02.27 and 10:05.31, respectively. All three women will also be competing in the distance medley relay, where they are expected to perform well.

In multi-events, freshman Promise Cross will be competing in the pentathlon, which consists of the 60m hurdles, high jump, shot put, long jump, and 800m. Cross has posted several first-place finishes this year, including a first-place showing at the BGSU Dual with a height of 1.62m in the high jump. Cross also won the long jump event with a distance of 5.36m at the John Hartpence Invitational.
