TOLEDO, Ohio – The University of Toledo women's basketball team (8-9, 4-9 MAC) will visit Akron (5-11, 2-11 MAC) for a Saturday afternoon contest at James A. Rhodes Arena. The game is set for a 2:00 p.m. tipoff and will be streamed live on ESPN3.
The Rockets and Zips will be meeting for the second time this year after their Jan. 2 matchup at Savage Arena, a game Toledo won 65-57. Toledo was led by
Sophia Wiard (16 points) and
Mali Morgan-Elliott (14 points) that game, while
Khera Goss added 12 points.
Toledo currently sits three games back in the standings from No. 8 seed Ball State. The top eight team qualify for the MAC Tournament (March 10-13). The Cardinals won an earlier battle against the Rockets this season and the two teams will play again at Savage Arena on Feb. 27.

Toledo will play at Eastern Michigan on Sunday, Feb. 21 at 5:00 p.m. This game had previously been scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 3 but was postponed after positive COVID-19 tests within the Eagles' program.

The Rockets dropped a Wednesday evening home game to Buffalo, 82-73.
Despite trailing by 13 points through the first three quarters, Toledo poured in a season-high 31 points in the final period and cut the deficit to three, 71-68, with 1:16 left in the game after a three-pointer from
Quinesha Lockett. The Rockets' fourth-quarter rally would fall short though in a nine-point loss to the Bulls. Lockett led the team in scoring with 21 points, while
Mali Morgan-Elliott tied a career-high with 14 points and was 4-of-7 from beyond the arc.
