TOLEDO, Ohio – Junior Quinesha Lockett of the Toledo women's basketball team has been named second-team preseason All-MAC, the league office announced Thursday.
A 2020-21 third-team All-MAC selection, Lockett averaged 19.6 points per game last season, which tied her for seventh all-time in program history in single-season scoring average. The Omaha, Neb. native registered the highest scoring average by a Rocket since 1998-99 when Kim Knuth averaged 25.4 points per game.
Lockett also led the team in steals (2.0/game) and was second on the team in rebounding (5.3/game) and assists (2.8/game). The sophomore shot 47.5 percent from the field and 81.3 percent from the free throw line. Among her MAC peers, Lockett ranked seventh in scoring and eighth in field-goal percentage.
Last month, Lockett was announced as one of Toledo's team captains, her second straight year being voted a captain by her teammates.
Lockett and the rest of the Rockets open the 2021-22 season on Tuesday, Nov. 9 at Oakland. Toledo's home opener will be against Wright State on Saturday, Nov. 13.
