TOLEDO, Ohio – The University of Toledo women's basketball team hosts Northwestern Ohio for an exhibition game on Sunday. Oct. 31 in Savage Arena.
The game is set for a 2:00 p.m. start and both admission and parking will be free.
Head coach Tricia Cullop enters her 14th season at the helm of the Rockets. Last season, Toledo posted a record of 12-12 and an 8-12 mark in Mid-American Conference play, finding its stride near the end of the season by winning three of the final four games.
The Rockets return the bulk of their offensive production from last season, including All-MAC honoree Quinesha Lockett (19.6 PPG, 47.5 FG%), Sophia Wiard (13.7 PPG, 4.3 APG), and Sammi Mikonowicz (9.2 PPG, 6.0 RPG). Toledo also welcomes in a talented class of newcomers, featuring freshmen Ella Doherty (Powmill, Scotland) and Jessica Cook (Clay, N.Y.) as well as transfers Nan Garcia (Penn State), Jayda Jansen (Maryville (Mo.) University), and Hannah Noveroske (Indiana).
Northwestern Ohio, located in Lima, posted a record of 5-11 last season. Junior guard Jada Haines was UNOH's leading scorer last season, averaging 19.1 points per game while shooting 44.6 percent from the floor. Senior guard/forward Kalea Kruser averaged a team-best 5.5 rebounds per game and returns for the 2021-22 campaign. The Racers will be led by first-year head coach Andre Smith, who joined UNOH this past April.
